Open to 2027 New-Grad Roles

Jeff (Hsuan-Fu) Hsu

I'm an M.S. in Computer Science candidate at the University of Southern California, graduating in May 2027. I build backend systems, cloud applications, and distributed software.

My experience spans a production government benefits module, cloud-deployed web applications, computer graphics, and an IEEE-accepted biomedical signal-processing research project.

Experience

Production-focused software engineering and research experience across backend development, deployment, security, and data pipelines.

Tech-Management Workshop Co., Ltd.

Software Engineer Intern

Jul 2026 – Aug 2026
  • Built and deployed a government benefits module from functional requirements using C#/.NET 8, ASP.NET Core MVC, Entity Framework Core, and SQL Server.
  • Implemented eligibility and identity validation, dynamic QR-code generation, and two-page A4 print workflows for a multi-office municipal deployment.
  • Hardened the application with server-side validation, anti-forgery protection, and HTTPS/HSTS; completed intranet packaging, cross-browser testing, and defect resolution.

National Taipei University

Undergraduate Researcher · Advisor: Prof. Bor-Shing Lin

Jul 2022 – Feb 2024
  • Owned the Python signal-processing and data-preparation pipeline that transformed raw embedded-device PPG signals into model-ready datasets.
  • Implemented Bessel filtering, signal-quality screening, feature extraction and selection, and leave-one-subject-out cross-validation; the dual-band regression model achieved 10.3% MAPE.
  • Received a national undergraduate research fellowship and placed fourth in a university project competition.

Selected Projects

Projects selected for relevance to backend, cloud, full-stack, and systems engineering roles.

Art Explorer

  • Node.js
  • Express
  • Docker
  • Google Cloud Run

Built and deployed an art discovery service that aggregates the Met Museum, Harvard Art Museums, and Wikipedia APIs. Implemented server-side pagination, interactive maps, related works, and persistent favorites.

Task Management System

  • ASP.NET Core Web API
  • Entity Framework Core
  • SQL Server
  • Vue 3

Building a full-stack task platform with layered services, RESTful APIs, DTO-based data transfer, CRUD workflows, pagination, filtering, sorting, database migrations, and indexed queries.

3D Rendering Engine

  • C++
  • OpenGL
  • GLSL

Built a custom OBJ/MTL parser and OpenGL rendering pipeline using VAO/VBO buffers, MVP transformations, texture mapping, and multi-light Phong-style shading.

Mochi Online Judge

  • Vue.js
  • REST APIs
  • Team Leadership

Led a four-developer frontend team building an interface with asynchronous submission tracking. Defined API contracts with backend and dispatcher teams and improved the handling of large test outputs.

Research

Biomedical sensing research combining embedded data collection, signal processing, feature engineering, and regression modeling.

IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems

Accepted for publication, 2026

“Noninvasive Portable System With Dual Near-Infrared Light Technology for Monitoring Uric Acid Concentration”

Contributed the PPG signal-processing and model-ready data pipeline, including Bessel filtering, signal-quality screening, feature extraction, and leave-one-subject-out cross-validation.
